I work with animal rescues. Yes that would be plural. Working with animals and/or having one can be beneficial to one’s well being. Which is why I promote animal shelter’s from time to time. I am however going to change things up and add a new page called animal crackers to NAYOP blog site.
I feel that it’s extremely important to ADOPT *not* shop. Puppies and kittens are indeed adorable but just like children, they do grow up and their needs change.
So each month I will choose a rescue at random and focus on the harder to place animals. Some clearly get adopted faster/easier than others and I think that they all deserve a home. Please don’t dump your animal outside thinking that it can fend for itself! You have no idea how traumatizing it is to see a stray in your neighborhood gasping for it’s few last breaths on the side of a busy street on your way to work in the morning.
I didn’t even realize that ‘creamsicle’ was a stray until I seen how dirty she/he was. That poor cat was someone’s pet at one point. Someone clearly didn’t want to take them along with their move and a no pets policy is NOT an excuse! So please don’t be ignorant. Educate yourself!
